Do you know what you want to be when you grow up? Me neither. Well, that’s not true. I know I want to write, I know I want to be a mother, I know I want to be a wife, I want to be a good friend, a good daughter and sister, and I know I want the freedom to pursue intellectual and creative endeavors to the extent that I choose. When I grow up, I want to be someone who lives life on their own terms. I’m getting there.
Because of all these wants, I’m changing my blog from “A Funny Thing Happened” to “Figuring it Out”. It will still contain funny stories about my attempt to figure the illusive “IT” out, but it will extend beyond humor to hopefully be something everyone can relate to.
We’ve all been in the position where we had to either rebuild or redefine a section of our lives. We moved. We moved in. We lost our job. We got a new job. We went back to school. We graduated. We started dating. We broke up. At each inflection point we had to look at ourselves and say, “What now?” How does this change me? How does this change how I see myself and relate to others?
In the posts to follow, I’ll explore topics of transition that have to do with freelancing, dating, moving, and everything in between. If you can commiserate, opine, or God bless it, answer a question I’m struggling with, leave a comment! I’d love to hear from you.
Till next time, much love.
